I first came to yoga for the workout, another challenge for my Type A personality to conquer. But when life knocked me flat, I discovered the practice as something much deeper.
Pranayama became my lifeline — carrying me through grief, anchoring me in compassion, and connecting me to the divine presence that threaded through every breath.
Today, I teach yoga and pranayama at Yoga Commons, the studio I co-founded just outside Washington, DC. Trained in the lineage of Sri Dharma Mittra and grounded in years of practice in both Dharma Yoga and Ashtanga, I created this immersion to share the breath practices that transformed my own life — so you can begin to carry yoga beyond the poses and into every moment.
